You can check to see if the audio driver was installed.
Check the speaker icon in the taskbar. If it's not there, then your device isn't working properly.
Click on the Playback tab and select your device from the list of available options. You can also click Set Default to select this option as your default playback device for all audio files played by Windows Media Player or Power Music Player (formerly Winamp).
If there is no sound card installed, click on "Sounds" tab to install one or check if your system has multiple sound cards installed by clicking on "Additional Sounds".
