Universal Music acquires catalog of 'Cosmic Debris' guitarist Frank Zappa

Universal Music Group on Thursday announced a deal to acquire the catalog of rock guitarist

and composer Frank Zappa's music, recordings and film collections for an undisclosed fee.

In recent times big-name artists such as Bob Dylan, Sting and Neil Diamond have sold

their catalogs to music labels, which has helped them generate more revenue from licensing, brand deals and royalties.
